Fabspeed responsds to claims of poor quality and a lawsuit stating they are the victims of a con man named Sal Pane

Fabspeed was not too pleased about the BoostAddict article yesterday which details claims about an upcoming class-action lawsuit. The job of this network is to report automotive performance news and sometimes that news is not positive. The job will be done to the writer's best ability even if that means some people might get upset.

To do the job properly both sides should get their say and you, the reader, are left to make up your own mind.

Fabspeed Motorsport of Fort Washington, Pennsylvania, has been in business for over 25 years as a family owned and operated company. Fabspeed has 50 skilled craftsmen and employees operating in 25,000sqft.

Fabspeed Motorsport serves a highly niche industry of the exotic sports car /luxury auto market with highly engineered performance packages that increase horsepower and develop wonderful sports car sound. Porsche, Ferrari, Lamborghini, McLaren, Bentley and Maserati are some of the lines Fabspeed supports and ships worldwide each and every day.

Because of the unique applications and performance parts we have dyno developed from stainless steel exhaust systems, intake systems, headers, tips, and software and the intricacies of the European makes, there are from time to time some rare quality issues. Though the exception, when something isn’t right, we take it back and make the part fit and operate correctly. Consumers in this specialized niche are aware of this dynamic and accept as a standard expectation.

In April 2016 Fabspeed Motorsport an independent auto repair / performance shop in Long Island New York bought a Ferrari F430 performance package for their customer. At the time of the sale Fabspeed did not know the end user as is usual when a wholesale account buys a part or system. Ultimately, the shop installed the Fabspeed systems for their customer who is named Sal Pane. Therefore Mr. Pane therefore had arranged for the system to be installed by a shop in Long Island New York for his Ferrari F430.

The Fabspeed F430 exhaust system had a minor weld fail at an O2 sensor and we offered a refund on the matter despite the fact that there is a possibility the shop he used made a mistake installing the system or Mr. Pane personal aggressive racetrack driving , including the fact that he raced the car thereby voiding our warranty might have adversely impacted our product. Fabspeed promptly repaired and replaced the component and reshipped the F 430 HJS German imported high flow catalytic converters to the shop for Mr. Panes vehicle. Mr. Pane had received Fabspeed F430 headers, F430 HJS sports race catalytic converters and a rear F430 X pipe and valved tips. The only parts that had any issue was the O2 sensor welds.

About 8 months later in December 2016 Mr. Sal Pane called Fabspeed Motorsport and started threatening Fabspeed employees and shouting obscenities. Sal Pane DEMANDED a FULL REFUND in December 2016 and simultaneously threatened Fabspeed with a lawsuit from his TEAM of corporate attorneys and said if we did NOT remit MONEY immediately he would create a website fabspeedsucks.com.

Mr. Pane called several times and said PAY ME so I go away or I will be your WORST possible nightmare. Pay me or I will kill you I have been to your facility and I know where you live. Pay me or its WAR and I will write terrible things about you, Fabspeed and do everything in my power to obliterate you.

In December 2016 a Fabspeed sales manager called Sal Pane and attempted a dialogue to solve this terroristic threat, extortion, slander and libel. We mentioned that in order to refund any money we would need our parts returned and control and ownership of the websites that Mr. pane had rendered and a release. Sal Pane screamed and told our people to go F themselves. The guy is a maniac.

After that Sal Pane who often goes by multiple fictitious aliases and emails for social media purposes such as Nick Naylor, Joseph P kept emailing and threatening physical harm and also threatening a social media war. For everyone’s information Sal Pane has had multiple legal encounters, including a FELONY Fraud conviction case with the US attorney's office. Google Sal Pane felony conviction and you can read about a convicted CON MAN.

Non-withstanding Sal Pane has also taken photos of the family home and emailed the company with multiple threats of personal harm, and serious extortion and multiple demands of $20,000.00 and other matters.

Sal Pane should down fabspeedsucks.com and cease slander, libel and defamation activities as we have begun our legal recourse to resolve this matter.
Now, that is quite a story and this Sal Pane fellow sounds like he is making life terrible for Fabspeed.

BoostAddict did google Sal Pane and, yes, many links about him being a con man come up: https://www.buzzfeed.com/alexcampbel...n-man-sal-pane

An anonymous letter alleges that Bio-Recovery Corp., the company linked to con man Sal Pane, paid Long Island medical examiner workers for tips on newly deceased bodies. A BuzzFeed News investigation exposed other Pane antics last fall.
    There's more: https://www.buzzfeed.com/alexcampbel...YwA#.jk9jMnLme

When New York City officials needed someone to disinfect the apartment of its first Ebola patient, they found someone who seemed to be made for the job. Sal Pane boasted decades of experience cleaning up extremely dangerous materials, including anthrax in 2001. Ebola was his time to shine. “This is our Michael Jordan moment. The fourth quarter,” he told USA Today. “When everyone else says no, we show up.”

But when Pane and his Bio-Recovery crew showed up at Dr. Craig Spencer’s home, they brought a truck bearing permit numbers that belonged to a dead man. Pane had duped the dead man’s grieving sister into selling that truck, she said, as well as the company name. Pane then claimed the dead man’s years cleaning up anthrax sites and other danger zones as his own — despite the fact that the dead man’s family, friends, and former co-workers said they had never known him to work with Pane.
What is the truth here? Well, Sal Pane's name is attached to some very shady and very dirty things. Additionally, if the threats against Fabspeed and the extortion claims are true one would think Sal Pane would face jail time. It also seems that he is a convicted felon.

Fabspeed is gearing up their own legal defense. All we know is Fabspeed sells exhausts and has always been easy to work with from this end and provided this network with whatever requests for product information were made.

Let's hope this matter is quickly resolved.

True. He is the one pushing the fabspeedsucks narrative though and apparently making the lawsuit/extorsion threats.

If you are in business long enough you are going to have some unhappy customers. I'm sure Fabspeed isn't perfect. Who is?

I wouldn't buy from them based on the other extremely unhappy customers with stories that sound just like the con man's. One person, hmm...multiple people, true story.

I'm too lazy to look, but I'm willing to bet every exhaust you sell comes with a 'for off-road use only' disclaimer. Does that mean all of your warranties are instantly voided as well?

It really only seems they responded to the fabspeedsucks website and this Sal Pane guy (who by the way is hilarious if true...faking credentials to clean up ebola??? What the $#@!ing $#@!)

But like others said, there are waaay too many negative reviews and pictures of $#@!ty chinese welds on Fabspeed products to all be blamed on this Sal Pane character. He is just a convenient scapegoat for them.
Also, the poor grammar bad writing from an official company statement just makes Fabspeed look unprofessional.

That is a lot to chew on as one of the people involved with the lawsuit I would like to say. This is nothing more than classic misdirection from fabspeed. As all of these reviews were done before this guy sal even bought his first part from fabspeed how is he the one to blame for all of these issues almost laughable. Also asking for $20,000 I don't consider extortion when $10,000 of it happens to be the customer's own money for parts that are broken. The other $10,000 was for the shop time putting the exhaust on and off three separate times. Seriously when you think about it. We all know the truth fabspeed sucks. For them to put all the blame of ten years of cheap manufacturing customer service issues on one guy who bought one exhaust system for one car is ridiculous!

I neg rep'ed you because you picked a trolling name and then backed up a known con artist with no introduction of yourself or why you decided to join this forum. Just seems too trolly.

At the same time, I agree with most of what you said.

Sorry for not introducing my self I'm James the host of www.fabspeedsucks.com which was all disclosed in the last post. In no way did I mean to troll please reconsider you neg as all i want is to gather as many of the people who have been victimize by fabspeed. Next do i support a con artist... NO but i do support Sal I have known him for many years and know the truth. like his felony is NOT for Fraud it is for Driving with a suspended licence. he was in a civil action 10 tears ago with a mortgage company. the key word is civil! not criminal. The guy drives like a manic no doubt and all his tickets and dui cough up to him and he paid the price. you should also know I have know him 6 years and have never seen him ever pick up a drink he is sober since April of 2009 and also got me sober. Now to the case and point WTF does this have to do with a exhaust! lol lets be honest to ourselves his drinking, mortgage company and ebola have nothing to do with hundreds of pissed off clients for over 10 years! #fabspeedsucks

    Ban this as$hole.

He isn't here to contribute to the community, he is here on his own agenda to just bash a company. Do you really think he will even be posting in a month when this blows over? He's useless.

I only signed up after a story was written about a cause that I'm fighting for. Where I was mentioned by first and last name. As the host of the website. Also I did not post anything negative other than representing the cause that was brought up in the article I truly feel you are overreacting. Also I believe you may have ties to fabspeed as you say this will blow over in a month I don't believe 10 years of customer service and Manufacturing issues should be blown over in one month. Hundreds of people have complained enough to build potentially a class action lawsuit don't you feel it's necessary to inform the community that you so represent properly and keep them away from poorly manufactured products that could cause catastrophic damage to their vehicles. Just my 2 cents thanks for letting me speak

I'm a dealer whose spent > 25k at Fabspeed which is not that much, but I still have input. Never once have I had a quality issue, warranty issue, customer service issue or anything. It's all been perfect and i've had some run ins with suppliers, believe me. One thing that annoys me though, is when there is a quality issue and i'm charged to get a replacement part until the they 'inspect' my part. Bilstein does this, and i'd hope Fabspeed would send their dealer a replacement without additional charges. Based on my experiences with them, i'd expect they'd keep me happy.

One thing I find funny, AWE Tuning located by Fabspeed was very open about speaking negatively about their quality and service but I have experienced the opposite with AWE. Over promoting and promising stuff with no accurate date of release, telling us if we don't sell x amount they won't recommend customers to us, allowing their web dealers to blow out products at 25%+ below cost to our local customers, delivering the wrong items ordered and not knowing when we can get the right ones. I'm still waiting on exhaust tips - 4 mo. now?

So he comes in, waits 24 hours until the system allows him to post links, trolls with links to fabspeedsucks and McLarenlife, then takes off.
